Rafeah Mustafa Kamal

Rafeah Mustafa Kamal is an entrepreneur with specialisation in bringing R&D solutions towards commercialisation product. She has been involved in managing and upgrading technology prototypes with researchers and improving their marketability outlook since 2013. With industrial design background from the International Islamic University of Malaysia, she is much familiar with academic procedures and is instrumental to guide the researcher to gradually turn into an academic techpreneur. Among the technologies she has handled include the SABSystem Timber Framing System—an industrialised building system; and the E.A.G.L.E. Navigator—a learning support system for assisting non-native English speakers understand a doctoral journey fast and easy. She is a graduate of Innohub, an incubator program by Putra Science Park, Universiti Putra Malaysia. She is instrumental in i-STP being awarded First Winner at the GIST-APEC (Global Innovations through Science and Technologies – Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation) 2019 in Brisbane, Australia. She is a certified Human Resource Development Fund (HRDF) Trainer in Malaysia.


Rahinah Ibrahim, PhD

Rahinah Ibrahim is an accomplished design scientist and construction expert with more than 20 years’ experience in community services. She is a full Professor, trained in architecture, who received a PhD in Construction Engineering and Management from Stanford University. The former Dean of the Faculty of Design and Architecture, Universiti Putra Malaysia, she is a transdisciplinary researcher and an academic entrepreneur who prefers to combine Arts & Humanities with S&T in creating innovative social solutions. The i-STP technology is a collaborative outcome with doctoral student, Dr Navid Nasrollah Mazandarani, who had worked under her supervision. To date, her students’ projects have produced 21 intellectual properties profiled in more than 50 countries with some being awarded international scientific and entrepreneurial accolades. For her research achievements, she was awarded the “Top Research Scientists of Malaysia” since 2012 by the Academy of Science Malaysia. For her innovative endeavours, the Ministry of Education Malaysia awarded her the “National Academic Award (AAN2013)” for Arts and Creativity Category. She is currently a Fellow in the Leaders in Innovation Fellowship (LIF) under Newton – Ungku Omar Program.
